This dispatch, from Kayla Hodges, explores the racial—and often racist—associations around hair and physical beauty that she encounters.
The Blackness Project is a documentary film being made in Buffalo to explore an African-American view on racial identity in a city that remains in many ways racially divided. An event is being held this Thursday to catch up on the film’s progress, meet the director Korey Green and his team, and engage in a panel discussion. RSVPs must be made to attend the event to firstname.lastname@example.org and the film continues its crowd-sourcing campaign.
